My project is based on a legend from Costa Rica, about their national tree called the « Guanacaste ».This Guanacaste is also called « the tree with ears » because of the shape of its seeds. My log is French and not Costa Rican, but I choose it for its little mushrooms that look like the Guanacaste seeds. I carved by hand some holes to create, on my own way, a tree with ears.
The poem that you can see written on the textile, is from Eric Doradea, a Costa Rican, and the poem relate the famous legend. It says that the tree « Guanacaste » is a refugee for those in need of rest. We gather around, we whisper him secrets, he listen to the thoughts of the hearts, and he answers on his magical sounds. The poem is about mix of generation, nature and fantastic.
