Through playing with these objects and their unique sound, you can explore the possibilities contained within them. The user can experience the different oscillators changing depending on the distance and position of the two devices. The experience can be lived by an individual or a collective. The moment spent with these objects allows the user to have a deeper attention to their body presence and the intimate communication you can share with someone.

How does it work?

We used a light sensor (Adafruit APDS9960) to change the frequency of the 3 oscillators programmed into the code with the DaisySeed. Oscillator 1 is kept on the same frequency (440), the Oscillator 2 has the same frequency as the amount of light captured (approximately between 0 and 2000) and Oscillator 3 can be only on 6 different frequencies changing with the amount of light also (with an if function). The oscillator 1 and 3 are set on frequencies corresponding to the major scale. We 3D modelled the shapes of the objects to then 3D print them. The goal was for them to fit into one another and for every component to be contained in it : the light, the sensor, the board and microcontroller and the battery.
